Career HeadStart
To help build the next generation of talent, IC Savings created and launched Career HeadStart in mid-2016. This career development program is a 12-month, paid internship for recent university and college graduates that offers valuable workplace experience, mentoring and training and networking opportunities so they can successfully bridge the gap between school and career.
Through Career HeadStart, each will have taken a valuable first step toward an exciting career in financial services, which may result in full-time employment at our credit union.
We believe in a strong financial services sector, and we know that, by investing in our communty and its talent, Career HeadStart can support its growth and its success.
Program Benefits
Placed in entry-level positions, Career HeadStart participants will acquire fundamental job skills in retail banking and, with a mentoring component, also develop valuable soft skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving and time management to enhance their employability and career prospects.
We offer a competitive level of compensation reflecting that level of responsibility in our credit union. Not only will associates earn renumeration at the same level as entry-level employees of IC Savings, they will also participate in the corporate time-off and benefits program. In addition, those who secure a Career HeadStart placement will earn the following:- a direct route to meaningful and practical work experience that is relevant to their field of study and interests

Positions Available
The 12-month program will accept up to ten individuals who graduated from an accredited Canadian college or university no less than six months and no more than 24 months ago, and who have been unable to find work commensurate with their academic track and career interests.Information about the 2019-2020 cycle will be posted in late spring 2019.
